I created an assemblage titled Anatomy ... but let us be honest, “A toddler could make that.”
It hangs on my wall and is posted on my feed.
Most accessible to myself and visible to those who can see through my windows or have seen on their feed.
As it hung on my wall I revisited my process: finding, pasting, shaping, cutting, ripping, breaking, painting.
I recalled the movements and sounds as I disassociated into the piece.
Revisiting the photo produced an overwhelming melancholic regret, as they and I had not shared the absolute true experience.
I disassociated into the sounds of leather, oxford shirts, wooden planks and sculptures, sandpaper, and the bike pedal. As that is how one should, and would, move through and experience the work.
One should touch the entire and incremental elements of the heavily white coated six foot by five foot.
For when something is so pristine, one could not help but touch and taint the once prime.
And this is my wish, to taint my work’s prime, for there must be more than solely hanging on a wall.
