Pieces of my presence, and worldly presents, make up the materials of the pieces within this collection. It is a collection of a collection. Worn, dirtied, stitched & scorn.Whispering what once was, what now is, and what may ever be.The eleven works do not make sense, individually and as a composite, as most things do in moments of uncertainty. An object is never solely an object, as nothing is ever just as it presents on the surface. Everything is instead a mirrored chasm, endlessly looping the inner and outer in continuous force.Created with objects from my lively archive, and understood through the physical and metaphorical relationships which developed amongst myself, the objects, & the objects themselves.The durability of paper, the opaque white of the glass bulb, the faint weight of the needle hooked onto a single thread. The similarities such materials present in the (my)self. The reflections, illusions, and perceptions of ourselves which we compile and dawn on.Yet underlying such is the natural aging which all must succumb to, and only a metaphysical form of conservation can hold taught the threads of the present self which one may everlastingly hope to retain. As if one was an ever in weave textile, knotted to and in a symbiotic relationship with its growing archive of threads. We hang on to hope in order to suspend forward. We find comfort in, and ourselves recycle. We make art with objects. Even as conditional to the moment as ___ may be.
